Hey everybody and welcome to Bobcat Stadium. Montana State and Bryant about 25 minutes from kickoff on a beauty of a day. I feel bad for you if you're stuck inside following along with the Chronicle blog, but we'll have a ton of info as the afternoon progresses.
We're underway at Bobcat Stadium with a 5-yard Gunnar Brekke run. Tyler Bruggman dropped a snap on second down and nearly threw an INT to Patrick Kenney.
Bryant gets off the field, 3 and out, on a well-contested ball up the sideline for Justin Paige on 3rd and 5. Good start for the visiting Bulldogs.
Brandon Hyashi the starting DT with Zach Wright today, otherwise MSU's base defense is the same as last week.
Tucker Yates in quickly for Hyashi. MSU figures to rotate heavily up front.
Bryant's offensive script so far to star this one is a good one. Lots of moving pieces, lots of formations. One of the interesting things to watch with unfamiliar opponents is the first 15-ish plays. Bulldogs with the upper hand in that respect early on here.
Grant Collins lost contain and allowed Black to bounce outside on the play called back for holding. No. 41 heard about that one from Choate on the sideline.
Easton looked like he had Keenan Thompson, but Bryson McCabe made a nice play in zone coverage to undercut it and force an incompletion.
Tre'von Strong back in the game and makes a tackle on third and long. One of the areas of his game that looks like it's really improved this year is tackling. Had an open-field stop on Linehan last week, sure tackling so far today.
Bryant's tackling has been very good so far. Two short throws for Bruggman out of the backfield and both D'Agostino and Brekke dropped where they catch it.
Nothing but screens and short throws in Montana State's passing game so far and Bryant's been all over it.
