Area is planned for commercial usage and proposal includes a zoning change to B2 designation for community business district
Commissioner Mehl: The property is "an island" surrounded by the city and seems to be a good addition to the city

City Engineer Rick Hixson presenting idea of sharrows on Mendenhall. After roadwork done, Mendenhall is "like a magic carpet"
Hixson: "There’s just not enough width on Mendenhall to add dedicated bike lanes, which would have been our preference."
